It feels almost unreal to know that we ACTUALLY are having a baby boy!
I just wanted to share some of the ultrasound pics with everyone!

AHHHH
So I was making dinner and my doctors office was calling me. I was like hmm weird and hit ignore. Just then it popped into my head that I have a couple appointments at Kaiser this week. One Tuesday and one Friday. Well TODAY is TUESDAY! UHHHG!
So I missed my last prenatal appointment with the OBGYN I have seen for the last 5 years! I am so mad at myself! I was able to contact her and appoligize but now I feel all worried that something is going to be wrong at my ultrasound.
I know I am overreacting and probably freaking over nothing but I feel like this was my last time to be sure everything is okay before the ultrasound. Of corse normal women who have never had a problem with a pregnancy are probably thinking I am crazy and I am to some extent. I worry EVERYDAY that something could be wrong and of corse working around so many women I hear all these CRAZY stories. Like, "this lady I knew found out her little girl was going to have a cleft pallette at the gender ultrasound" or "my neice didn't tell anyone her baby was going to have birth defects and it was so horrible when she was born and she has to use a wheelchair" you know, crazy stuff like that! I just want to say....HEY I am nervous enough as it is! Nobody wants to think thier baby could have a birth defect or something wrong and the fact that Friday is my last day with this doctors office just FREAKS me out!
Anyway...I needed to unleash my panic somewhere and this seemed to be the most constructive way to get it out. Thank you for reading!

Merry Christmas!!!
It is hard to believe that this is my last Christmas before I have a family. I have thought a lot about someday having kids and they wake up and open presents but this year I realize that it is truly happening.
This time next year John and I will be celebrating with our 6 month old baby girl or boy!
I can't wait to start family traditions and just to be around family with the baby next year.
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday.

I found a new doctor!
FINALLY I made an appointment after the 1st of the year with my new doctor!
John and I will be seeing Dr. Sargent in Portland who comes highly recomended from a work friend not to mention the great online reviews I read about him and his staff.
So much stress has been lifted now that I know I have a doctor set up!
I will also get to have our baby at Providence Portland Medical Center. Which I am very excited about.
I have ready great reviews from other moms about how great the care is there.
I can't wait to meet this new doctor!

16 weeks and I am starting to feel less nauseated and I also have more energy. I also found alcohol-free wine (don't judge me, I love wine) It's actually not bad and well it makes me fell pretty normal to have a glass.
I read through my chapter on week 16 weeks ago but went back to recap whats going on and here is what baby miller is doing...
Week 16
Baby now weighs in at a whopping three to five ounces, and he's four to five inches in length. The bones that are now in place in his ears means he can probably hear your voice as you talk to your partner and pals and sing in the car. While he’s getting used to your voice, the tiny muscles in his body, especially the ones in his back, are gaining strength, so he can straighten out a little more. And thanks to his developing facial muscles, your baby is capable of making a few expressive frowns and squints, even at this early stage. (Don’t worry, those frowns have nothing to do with the sound of your voice!) And his eyes are finally working, making small side-to-side movements and perceiving light (although the eyelids are still sealed). Peekaboo!

On the hunt for a new doctor...
I have been with Kaiser for YEARS now. For the last 5 years I have had the same OBGYN who has basically been my go to doctor for almost EVERYTHING.
Dr. Leigh has been amazing but I just don't like Kaiser as a whole...impossible to get ahold of anyone when you need to (I have my doctors pager number for emergency) but to get in touch with someone normally is just nuts. I have had a lot of issues with the staff and over all just bad experiences.
So open enrollment for benefits came out and we found a much better option for us going with United Healthcare starting January 1st. Now I know I made this choice and its what we feel is best but I am starting to panic. What if the new doctor isn't as good as the one I've trusted for 5 years???
I guess I just need to do my homework!
I have narrowed it down to 4 doctors that all work out of Portland Providence because I feel for my area that is the best hospital to go with. Please wish me luck I am going to be researching these ladies and hopefully making an appointment to meet with one of them right away!

My first 2nd trimester appointment!!!
I don't know why I always get so nervous today I was a wreck, but I made it to the doctor appointment and FINALLY got to hear those words every woman wants to hear, "you are out of the woods!'" (maybe thats not the words every woman wants to hear but it was the ones I wanted to hear)
We got to hear the babies heartbeat a nice 150bpm which is totally amazing to hear! I have gained 4 lbs since my last visit which my doctor is super happy about because I had lost about 5 in the first trimester and the gain is the right direction!
We also got to see the little one on an little ultrasound machine! Nothing fancy and I'm sorry to report no pics this time the baby wouldn't stop moving!
We saw a nice profile, the head and face, and arms and legs :) Can't tell the sex yet but our doctor called it a "he" the whole time so I was hopeing maybe she saw something and just didn't tell us ;) Time will tell we are getting so close to finding out what we are having.
I just wanted to quickly update everyone on the baby and me! :) :) :)

Week 15!
So here I am a few days into week 15 and NOTHING fits me the way it used to! :)
My shirts are tight and barely cover my belly and my pants WILL NOT button. It is time to start looking for maternity clothing (maybe not pants yet because I have a belly band) but shirts are a must!
Our little baby is now between the size of an apple and an avacado!
Tomorrow is our 15 week appointment with our doctor and I hope to have a new ultrasound pic of our little bean!

Weeks 4-14
I have had so many people tell me, "start a pregnancy blog!", "It's so fun!". So here I am...Starting my pregnancy blog!
Mostly I am starting this for my mom so she can stay updated daily (or weekly) on what I am doing and how our little baby Miller is doing also!
We found out we were going to have a baby at week 4! I hadn't even missed a period yet but we were going to Cinatopia for a movie and pitcher of beer and I suddenly thought....I need to take a test. I did and it appeared negative so we went along with our evening.
Upon coming home I noticed the test had a very very light line that could mean a positive test. So I took another one and same faint line appeared. After waiting a week and wondering I took another test and there was the DARK positive we had been hoping for! We are going to have a baby!
Now due to loss in the past I was determined to keep it a secret until 14 weeks. (looking back I would have never been able to do that!) However about a week later my cousin called me wanting to tell me him and his wife were expecting and I felt like I had to share my news too. From there I just had to tell my mom and my sister, and the in-laws too!
I had all your normal pregnancy symptoms from nausea to acne. However I only threw up a few times which is nice I still felt crummy.
We had one scare in the 1st trimester, I woke up around 12 weeks in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and saw the ever so scary blood on the tissue! In a panic I contacted my doctor and with it being very ealry Sunday we decided to wait it out and go in Monday morning. Luckily Monday morning there was no blood and the doctor showed us a healthy little bean moving around on the ultrasound!
Now I am in my second trimester and well My symptoms have decreased and I am starting to LOVE this pregnancy!
